Letter to Maurice de Fleury, March or April 1908: "I have occasionally amused myself by writing pastiches of medical literature! If I had been able to find them - or take them up again (but all that is too distant) I would have published them, had I known that you read that sort of thing, to amuse you. I have no need to tell you that, deemed inimitable, you would not appear in them. But others are less perfect and combine with rather interesting qualities, little shortcomings which make imitation and caricature possible."
