At the performance given on Sunday at the Bouffes by the
company L'Elan, we took note, in a piece by M. de Cambang, of a
young debutante, Mlle de Mornand, who generated much applause with an
amusing song about Canon Rosenberg.
Le Temps 16 June 1903. Louisa de Mornand was performing in Les Nuls at the Bouffes-Parisiens, Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 June 1903.
Letter to Louis d'Albufera, 15 June 1903: "[...] Buy a copy of
Le Temps... you will see in the theatre column a few words that
I had put in about our friend in Les Nuls. It's only a little
thing but as you will see the theatrical columns in it are very brief
(and they don't mention L'Elan other than in connection with
Mlle de Mornand). And as it is the most read paper, in all of society,
I'm happy to think that at least it includes the name of a person who is
so dear to you and who one day deserves to be very well known. I've made
an approach to Le Gaulois but I don't know the outcome yet. I
didn't mention to you on Saturday my intentions for Saturday's Temps
because I didn't know if I would be successful, with this difficult
paper, and it is very stupid to always make promises and never keep
them. [...]" From Beaussant Lefèvre, 10 July 2017, Lot 3.
